Dave Gibbons (born 14 April 1949[1]) was the primary comic artist throughout the run of Doctor Who Weekly and into the first issues of Doctor Who Monthly. In 2016, he returned to the magazine, by then renamed Doctor Who Magazine, for its 500th issue comic story The Stockbridge Showdown.
He collaborated with DWM writer Alan Moore in creating the graphic novel Watchmen. Gibbons has collaborated with Frank Miller and has contributed to 2000 AD since its inception, including art for its flagship character, Judge Dredd.
Gibbons has also been a longtime artist for DC's Green Lantern. While primarily known as an artist, he has written for 2000 AD and Captain America.
In 1987, Gibbons won three Kirby Awards for his work on Watchmen.
