He had multiple humanoid bodies which each had different functions. His butler body was described as tall and wore a bowler hat, and his medic body had a screen on its chest. (AUDIO: Aquitaine)
The Doctor disconnected Hargreaves' head from his butler body and used it by patching it directly into the TARDIS to help save the crew-members of the HMS Aquitaine.
