Scout was a synthonic robot, or synthoid. It acted as Kambril's servant and secretary. Kambril ordered it to strangle Oliver Malf, who was impersonating General Zeff Dorling, with the Fourth Doctor's scarf, thus framing him for the murder. (PROSE: A Device of Death)
