* The scroll seems to be a reference to the [[Wikipedia:Tunguska event|Tunguska event]], hinted in the episode. The scroll's name is similar and was found in the same month and year. The event happened on 30th June 1908, but in-universe, the scroll was found on 4th June 1908, before the event. The scroll was also found in [[Russia]], the location of the event.

The Tunguska Scroll was recovered in the Tunguska Basin in Russia in 1908. It was acquired by UNIT on 4 June 1972 from a private collector. It was kept in the Black Archive, having an inventory reference number 000284749 and being located at E-4.6. Sarah Jane Smith, with the help of the Brigadier took it after being duped by Mrs Wormwood, who promptly stole it from her and joined it with the Consciousness of Horath, in order to locate the resting place of Horath. After Wormwood was defeated, Sarah Jane destroyed the scroll with her sonic lipstick. (TV: Enemy of the Bane)
