Mary Shelley's Monstrous Mashups was a narrative game published in Doctor Who The Official Annual 2021. Like all the games in the book, it tied in with a specific episode of series 12 of Doctor Who, namely The Haunting of Villa Diodati.
As the reader was invited to see themselves as the main character of the game (whom Mary Shelley addresses as "you"), the story, such as it is, is held to break the fourth wall and is not considered a valid source by this Wiki.
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
When she encounters four ghastly aggregate beings, Mary Shelley calls on "you" for help to help these "wretched souls" return to their original forms, which means, first and foremost, identifying who each mashup is made of!
Characters[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Mary Shelley
- "You"
- "Fam" (aggregate of Yasmin Khan, the Thirteenth Doctor, Graham O'Brien and Ryan Sinclair)
- "Friends" (aggregate of Nevi, Nikola Tesla, George Gordon Byron and Hyph3n)
- "Monsters" (aggregate of Captain Pol-Kon-Don, a Cyberman, the Queen of the Skithra and a Dreg)
- "Villains" (aggregate of Daniel Barton, Suki, Gat and the Spy Master)
Worldbuilding[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Mary Shelley claims she has "witnessed many horrors in her life".
Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
to be added
Continuity[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Mary Shelley's claim to have witnessed "many horrors" in her life may consist of a subtle reference to her status in Big Finish's Eighth Doctor audio stories as a companion of the Eighth Doctor, for whom the events of TV: The Haunting of Villa Diodati [+]Loading...["The Haunting of Villa Diodati (TV story)"] were far from the only brush with the preternatural.
