In the 1980s he was in Crown Court and Boon, but his career gathered steam in the 1990s. He guested on The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes and The Bill, amongst many others. He also had a recurring role on This Life. At the dawn of the 21st century he had another recurring role on Peak Practice. He continued working steadly through the 2000s, with roles on Silent Witness, The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, Rosemary & Thyme, and Casualty. Elsewhere in sci-fi productions during that decade, he was part of the main cast of Life Force, and guest-starred in one episode of Powers, both critically acclaimed children's dramas that did not receive another series.
