The Canopusi were tall humanoid natives of Canopus IV who were on "the evolutionary cusp between reptile and mammal". They worshipped the Vo'lach, who visited their ancestors circa 10,000,000 BC and left the Spire on Canopus.

The Canopusi had four valved stomachs which could operate independently from each other. When a stomach was poisoned, it would collapse into a hard nodule and be ejected from the body and a replacement stomach would grow within a week. (PROSE: Dry Pilgrimage)
