Ludwig was one of three goblins who served Krampus of the Pantheon, alongside Siegfried and Otto.
When Krampus emerged in Leadworth during Amelia Pond's childhood, he brought with him three Christmas tree ornaments from which he unleashed the three goblins, sending them after Amelia, Rory Williams and Mels Zucker. However, the three were roundly trounced by Mels, who unleashed her more than human strength. Although Krampus then captured the children himself, his plan was foiled when Amelia convinced Veronica Saltbroke to reject the Link, causing Krampus and his henchfolk to be sucked back into the mirror through which they'd crossed the walls of reality.
