Damadus was the 4th High Leader of the Thals and the great-grandson of Alydon and Dyoni.

Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

Damadus led the Thal City fifty cycles after the Thal-Dalek battle. An advocate for a continued military presence in Thal society, he came into conflict with his chief scientist Tryana but considered his disagreements with her to be good natured.

When the First Doctor and his companions returned to Skaro, Damadus greeted them and awarded them every courtesy, ordering Tryana to show them the infrastructure related to the ionising towers. When Jyden had convinced Susan Foreman to show him the Dalek City, the Doctor, Tryana and Ian Chesterton set out after them, Damadus ordering Tryana to allow Kreos and his men to accompany them. Left behind with Barbara Wright, he showed her around the Thal City.

When Kreos returned with the children, he brought with him two unarmed Dalek drones who claimed to be emissaries of peace. Deciding to give peace a chance, Damadus allowed one of them to speak directly to the Thal people only for the Daleks to abandon their ruse and commence an invasion of the city.

After one of the drones had been destroyed, Ian rejoined the group and masterminded a plan to take back the ionising towers. Left to defend the city, Damadus found himself a priority target of the Dalek Supreme before the Doctor turned the ionising towers against the Daleks with Ian later overloading the Dalek City's pilfered power feed, destroying it.

In the aftermath, Damadus, alongside Kreos and Jyden, bade farewell to the Doctor and his companions, though none were fully convinced that this had marked the end of the Daleks. (AUDIO: Return to Skaro)

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

While he was somewhat sympathetic and understanding of the desire for his people to return to pacifism, by his own admission, Damadus advocated for a continued military presence in Thal society, worried about the possibility of other Daleks that might exist on Skaro. Though not a scientist, he was a supporter of science to better the lives of his people, eagerly supporting Tryana's new technologies, despite his disagreements with the woman, and had plans to further expand Thal influence across Skaro and beyond. (AUDIO: Return to Skaro)

Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]

Damadus bore enough of a resemblance to both of his great-grandparents that Barbara Wright could make out similarities even four generations later. (AUDIO: Return to Skaro)
