Alydon was the leader of the Thals after Temmosus's death.

Alydon and the rest of the Thals were led by Temmosus to the Dalek City in search of food. He discovered the TARDIS in the petrified jungle and left a case of anti-radiation drugs for its crew. Later, he met Susan Foreman and gave her his cloak and an extra case of the drug.
After Temmosus's murder by the Daleks, Alydon became leader. Despite the Daleks' actions, Alydon refused to wage war due to the effects that war had had on Skaro in the past.
