In an alternate timeline, Sir Amol Rajan was a journalist and presenter for Hotline. As of 2046, he had been a reporter for 40 years, and had gained a reputation for refusing to let his interviewees off the hook. (PROSE: 73 Yards [+]Loading...{"page":"111","1":"73 Yards (novelisation)"})

He interviewed Roger ap Gwilliam while the latter was leader of the Albion Party during the 2046 general election. During the interview, Gwilliam indicated that he wished to use nuclear weapons, an answer that he requested was cut out of the final broadcast after being pressed by Rajan.
