The name later appeared in {{cs|Torchwood: The Encyclopedia (reference book)}}. It is also the Welsh for "wolf hill", reflecting the cannibalistic nature of the residents.

For generations, the villagers of Brynblaidd engaged in a harvest once every ten years, in which they would murder and eat strangers who came near their village. After they had abducted seventeen victims within a thirty mile radius for one of these harvests, Torchwood Three discovered the community, for which Evan Sherman apparently acted as the leader.
