The World War One War Zone, (PROSE: War World [+]Loading...["War World (feature)"]) also known as the 1917 War Zone, was one of eleven war zones established by the War Lords on an Earth-like planet as part of their War Game using combatants taken from across human history. Like all the other zones, everything in the 1917 war zone was authentic; there were fences of barbed wire, churned up land, destroyed buildings, and trenches. This zone was based on the penultimate year of World War I; the War Lords took no combatants from beyond this time as greater technological knowledge would be dangerous. On the British side, the War Lord under the guise of General Smythe was in command, and by using the special eyeglasses his people were using to brainwash humans, he had the Second Doctor, Jamie and Zoe put before a court martial. In Smythe's room in the chateau was the landing site for SIDRATs and communication equipment and the control system for the time zone barriers.
On the German front, the Germans were commanded by Von Weich. (TV: The War Games)
