Motecuhzoma Xocoyotzin was the ninth tlatoani of tenochtitlan, described as a "conceited and superstitious man, unpredictable and too fond of his own sovereignty". He sacrificed Momacani during a failed New Fire Ceremony in 1506 as well as conducting another version of the ceremony in 1507.
