The BBC Torchwood novels were a series of novels published by BBC Books featuring the characters from Torchwood. Three novels were published during series 1 of Torchwood. Twelve more were published during and after series 2 of Torchwood.
Despite Torchwood and its novels being geared for adult audiences, BBC Books initially published them in a format similar to its young adult-skewed Doctor Who New Series Adventures, with a slightly larger page size.
Following a set of releases in October 2009 the series went on hiatus until July 2011, when a new trilogy of novels, promoted as prequels to the Torchwood: Miracle Day arc, were published. These books introduced a new paperback format for the novels.
