Dawn French is an actor and comedian, and one half of the comedy duo French and Saunders. She played Silurian 1 in The Silurian Disruption, a sketch which appeared on her show. She also wrote the script for that sketch.

She was suggested by Sydney Newman for a possible candidate for the Doctor's seventh incarnation.

She was previously married to Lenny Henry from 1984 until 2010.
