Escape from Planet X was a board game printed in The Dr Who Annual 1967. It featured the First Doctor trying to make his way back to the TARDIS, and was a game for two or more players. The objective of the game was to try navigate the planet Planet X before the other player(s).

Summary

The Doctor attempts to find his way back to the TARDIS.

Characters

Worldbuilding

  • The Doctor can find a hover ship.
  • The Doctor can get lost in a jungle.
  • The Doctor can run into robots.
  • The Doctor can run into prehistoric monsters.
  • The Doctor can sight enemy crafts.

Notes

  • Unusually for this type of board game, in this game, to reach the end you have to roll the exact number of spaces to land on the TARDIS and win the game.
  • Whether it is Dr Who who is trying to get back to the TARDIS is ambiguous; he is shown in an illustration at the top of the game, but is not referenced in text. Whether the players trying to compete against each other to reach the TARDIS are diegetic is likewise ambiguous.
