Dr Who on the Planet Zactus, styled Dr Who on Zactus on the inside cover, was a 1966 story contained within a painting book. This meant the art was printed in black and white, with the intention that the reader would colour in the pictures to their preference.
The story featured the First Doctor travelling alone, as he often did in non-televised stories in the 1960s.
Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Doctor lands on the planet Zactus. Meanwhile, an astronaut from a space station lands on another region of Zactus. The native Zactions approach the Doctor and ask him to go with them to their headquarters. He meets their leader and they show him the cold part of the planet. He finds the astronaut's rocket and is taken by robots to their city. He meets the chief robot and the imprisoned astronaut. The Doctor convinces the chief robot to free the astronaut and departs the planet.
