Clinton Richard Dawkins (born 26th March 1941) is a British scientist and the holder of the Charles Simonyi Chair at Oxford. In 2009, when Earth was taken to the Medusa Cascade by the Daleks, Dawkins appeared on television to discuss the phenomenon. He pointed out that, as could be seen from the new constellations visible, the Earth had indeed travelled. (DW: The Stolen Earth)

Behind the scenes

Richard Dawkins is married to former Doctor Who cast member Lalla Ward. They were introduced by Douglas Adams, a mutual friend, who was also a Doctor Who writer and script editor.
