Li a Chinese who assisted the Doctor to defeat a stone monkey. When he was a little boy Li witnessed the arrival of the Doctor's TARDIS and guided the Doctor to his grandfather Chan Chui. After Chan Chui revealed he wasn't fit enough to go after the stone monkey Li decided to go along and help the Doctor.
