The Visual Recognition System was a device capable of identifying the species of an individual by their image. The Doctor obtained one as a gift from his godmother, but only bothered to use it in a later regeneration. Its mirror was smashed when the Doctor was looking for a Krafayis.
Abilities
Using a direct image or a picture, the system was capable of identifying its species. Though it was capable of using drawings, it would be less accurate. It would then give the species' name, planet of origin and other important information. It could be both connected to the TARDIS and print out the information, or carried by the user and giving information on a screen.It also has the ability to recognize the Doctor,even if he has regenerated,as it shows print outs of the First Doctor and Second Doctor.(DW: Vincent and the Doctor)
