In Jubilee, the British Empire triumphed over the Daleks. In Victory of the Daleks, the British Empire fail to destroy the Daleks (because The Doctor called off the attack after the Daleks told him about the bomb in the robot professors).
And when the first Spitfire is shot down by the Dalek saucer, unless I mishead it, one of the other pilots calls back, "We've lost Jubilee!"
Obviously there's no in-universe connection, but I'm wondering if this was a meaningful reference for the fans ("no glorious victory over the Daleks to celebrate in 100 years with a jubilee celebration exploding the last Dalek"), or if it's just a meaningless shout-out to the name (similar to the way Jubilee Pizza has been established as a world-wide pizza delivery chain in the Whoniverse). --99.37.227.199 09:49, April 18, 2010 (UTC)
