A recce is a part of the pre-production process which involves key members of staff visiting various sites to determine their suitability for location filming.
Two recces were recorded on the documentary, Designs on Doctor Who — one led by Julian Luxton for Torchwood and the other by Ed Thomas for Doctor Who.
