The Return of the Master was a documentary which covered the return of the Master, since his last on-screen appearance in DW: The Deadly Assassin. The documentary was included in the DVD release of DW: The Keeper of Traken, which was a part of the New Beginnings box set.

Interviews

Script editor, Christopher H. Bidmead, talked about the initial development of the Master trilogy (which it would later become known as), it included DW: The Keeper of Traken, DW: Logopolis and DW: Castrovalva. John Black, the director of DW: The Keeper of Traken, talked about the casting of Geoffrey Beevers as the Master. The rest of the documentary was devoted to the discussion of the motives, the character and the roll of the Master who was played by actor Geoffrey Beevers.

The documentary featured scenes from the televised stories to highlight events mention in the interviews.
