Colin Morgan played Jethro Cane in Midnight.

Morgan was born 1st January 1986 in Armagh, Northern Ireland. After gaining a National Diploma in Performing Arts at Belfast Institute of Further & Higher Education in 2004, he went on to graduate from the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 2007.

Morgan appeared on stage in 2007 as Esteban in the Old Vic stage adaptation of Pedro Almodóvar's Todo sobre mi madre, and took the title role in the Young Vic's adaptation of DBC Pierre's Vernon God Little.

Morgan featured in a number of minor roles in television programmes such as The Catherine Tate Show Christmas Special as John Leary along with companion actress Catherine Tate in 2007, and the Doctor Who episode Midnight as Jethro Cane in 2008, before being cast in the title role in BBC TV series Merlin, another BBC Wales production filling the Saturday evening family drama slot.

Merlin was renewed for a second series on BBC One, which aired in the fall of 2009, and a third season is in production. Series 1 aired on NBC in the United States during the summer of 2009, and was promoted as the first wholly British-made series to air on mainstream US network TV in more than 30 years; it scored generally low ratings, and subsequently Series 2 aired on the NBC-affiliated cable network Syfy.

Several of the lead actors in Merlin have appeared on Doctor Who. Besides Morgan, alumni include Richard Wilson, Anthony Head and Angel Coulby. Notable guest stars with franchise appearances include Michelle Ryan, Joe Dempsie, Sarah Parish, Eve Myles, Tom Ellis and Georgia Moffett, and stunt performer Rick English.
