Lydia Childs initially worked at Torchwood 1 as a secretary having been born and raised in the area.

Profile

However, in 1918, on request of Gerald Kneale, she re-located to Torchwood 3 to take on a similar role. She is said to have possessed a remarkable memory and eclectic knowledge making her an invaluable member of the team. It is said that she often did not receive the thanks she deserved, a trait that seems to plague Torchwood secretaries. She died before August in 1941. (TWN: The Twilight Streets)
