Captain Rotmund was a German army officer in World War I. While pursuing British soldiers in Belgium, his men captured the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler, then came across a Warfreek surveillance device. They tried unsuccessfully to attack it, but the noise attracted the sound of British soldiers and fighting broke out.
