Major General Scobie was an officer in the British Army. He had been posted to Burma during World War II and Singapore in the 1950s. (MA: The Scales of Injustice)

In the 1970s he was assigned as the liaison officer between UNIT and the regular army. The Nestene replaced him with an Auton duplicate and placed him in Madame Tussaud's. He was eventually freed when the Third Doctor short-circuited his duplicate. (DW: Spearhead from Space)

Later that year, Scobie had a budget meeting with the Brigadier and Sir John Sudbury. (MA: The Scales of Injustice)

In October 1983, General Scobie attended a UNIT reunion party. (PDA: Business Unusual)
