Inspector Gascoigne was a police detective investigating Chameleon Tours on behalf of Samantha Briggs, whose brother disappeared when he went on a Chameleon Tours holiday to Rome. The Chameleon who took over Spencer's identity shot and killed Gascoigne for getting too close to the truth.
