Thinwood was a Scottish man in Orkney, Scotland in 2025 who was captured along with The Doctor by a race of pylon creatures when at a protest opposing the presence of the pylons. He later admits that he only participated in the protest to get closer to Liz, a girl for whom he had romantic feelings.
