Didn't you find it odd that the Future Doctor was lounging on top of the red car at the beginning of the Impossible Astronaut? It seems like he owns it. Where did that car come from in the first place? It is my theory that the red car is the TARDIS. Although the idea of him owning the car is also consistent with the idea of him being trapped in the past and being forced to live through 200+ years of human history. That would also explain why he kept showing up in the fairly recent past and was apparently trying to get Amy and Rory's attention through history.
