The TARDIS materializes amidst the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, where the Doctor and his companions meet Alexander the Great. The conspirators try to frame the time travelers, but the Doctor and Ian succeed in a series of trials and Alexander's bodyguard, Ptolemy, proves their innocence.
