The Grand Witch was a powerful witch and the leader of a gathering of evil witches on Vargo. When the Second Doctor arrived on the planet, he scared off most of the witches by claiming to be the "Wizard of Omega" and using gadgets from his utility belt to perform "magic tricks." However, the Grand Witch and two of her followers stayed behind, learned that the Doctor was not a wizard and captured him, taking him to their cave.
