Wilfred was residing at an abandoned newspaper stand in London at Christmas at a point where Earth was aware of alien life and the threat they pose (especially at Christmas). He claims to be the only person who has remained in London (as well as Queen Elizabeth II) as everyone else has fled to the countryside.
