Feature Article policy covers the regulations surrounding the standard and nomination of this wiki's featured article, as displayed on the main page. These articles display the highest standard of article this wiki had produced and are therefore subject to certain criteria.

The actual nomination of articles to be featured takes place at Tardis:Feature Article nominations. Previous Feature Articles can be seen at the archive.

#  Not be tagged with any improvement or protection tags.
#  Not have any "to be added" notes on the article.

Nominating a Feature Article
*Before nominating, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes such as typos. While many browsers now spellcheck, copying the text into a word processor should highlight these.
*Compare the nominated articles to the criteria listed above.
*Then, if it conforms to the above criteria add it to the Tardis:Feature Article nominations under a three-bar (===) heading and leave a note as to why you submitted it with your signature following.

Nominating articles
Feature Articles are added to the main page on the first day of each given month, the Feature Article will be changed any time on the first day of the month (defined by GMT - Greenwich Mean Time).

Users can nominate as many articles to be featured as they wish, but any articles that are a long way off feature standard will simply be removed from the process.

Giving feedback
Feedback should be posted under the heading of a nomination. Your comment should be proceeded by a emboldened note, such as Support, Oppose, or a specific issue like Continuity issues. Remember to sign these comments. Once addressed, a point should have a further note explaining how the issue has been solved. Replies to each comment can then follow. So, for example, a nomination may look like this:

White Darkness
This articles has lots of content and some good information (Submitted by User:X)

*Oppose: The article has too many red links.--User:Y
:Several pages stemming from the article have now been created, reducing the amount of red links. --User:X

*Support: The articles has a nice lead and plenty of references.--User:Z

and so on...

Ready
When an article is up to feature standard, with no further issues, it is added to a list of articles queued up to be featured on the main page. This list can be found at Tardis:Feature article nominations#Articles ready to be featured.

Posting the Feature Article
When posting a Feature Article to the main page a short summary will be created to summarise the Feature Article in order to lead readers to the full article. The previous Feature Article will be added to the 'Previously Featured Article' list on the main page. There should only be 5 or 6 previously featured articles listed here.

Feature Article rejection
In the event that a Feature Article is nominated, voted for and succeeds in the vote that does not conform to the Feature Article Criteria, it will be rejected, pending a clear-up to satisfy the Feature Article Criteria. It may then be posted as the Feature Article for the month it had been successful in being nominated for.

Notes and exceptions
In some rare circumstances the feature article may be changed mid-month to highlight a notable actor who recently died. The actor will remain the feature article for the rest of the month, or for half the month depending on various factors.
