The Doctor and Martha land back on Earth, and soon get involved in a bit of trouble …
Summary
As the Doctor and Martha contemplate visiting the Millennium Dome, they are caught up in an alien burglary of a high street bank. The four-fingered, four-armed, green humanoid creatures, disguised with stockings over their heads, escape in a waiting van. Stealing a nearby convertible the Doctor and Martha head off in pursuit armed only with a discarded half eaten burger and an A to Z map. Under Martha’s navigation they take a shortcut, only to find a similar robbery taking place. Sandwiched between the two alien getaway vans, Martha throws the half-eaten burger at the van's window, which causes the alien driver to lose control and the two vans to collide. With their vehicles destroyed, the aliens panic. They state that the contest cannot continue and activate a trilexic teleport beam to leave the scene of an aborted robbery, leaving the money behind. Following the beam the Doctor and Martha head off to follow and find out more about this ‘contest’.

Notes
- Supporting the series of collectable Doctor Who trading cards, the magazine carried a regular four page, individually titled comic strip of the Tenth Doctor’s adventures.
- The artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine and, as did Doctor Who Adventures, reflected the appeal to readers younger than those catered to by Doctor Who Magazine.
References
- The Battles in Time comic strip often sought to reinforce the association of the Doctor here with the one seen on screen by using various ‘props’ from the TV series: blue/brown suit, sonic screwdriver, psychic paper and his intelligent glasses.
