Dez Skinn created the Doctor Who Weekly and edited it from 1979 to 1980. He also co-wrote Timeslip, one of the most oft-reprinted strips in Doctor Who comics history. His departure from Doctor Who Weekly caused several artists, such as Steve Dillon, to leave with him.
