The Traken Union was the empire of Trakenites that was known for its universal harmony. The capitol of the Union was Traken, the Trakenite homeworld, where some said that there was so much goodness that evil died away when it arrived on Traken.
The Union was headed by the Keeper of Traken, who reigned for a thousand years and brought peace to the Union through the power of the Source. The Union was made up of Traken in Metulla Orionsis and other planets and possibly other star systems, with the colony Serenity on the edge of Mutter's Spiral. (DW: The Keeper of Traken
