The Vervoids were a species of genetically altered plant. Devised by scientists on the planet Mogar, they pined not for slavery, as was their creators intentions, but to kill all humans. Loose aboard Hyperion III, they began picking off the crew one by one. It was the Sixth Doctor's treatment of this rare lifeform that saw him branded a genocidal criminal by his own people.
