Sontar Sand Shrews were a species native to the deserts of Sontar. As they rarely had a change to eat in the deserts, they were capable of eating anything. The Sontarans demonstrated this when the Sand Shrews ate humans as BASE after they failed the long jump. The Tenth Doctor too almost became a victim. (QR: The Sontaran Games)
