The Defence Secretary was the political head of the United Kingdom military. He was involved in Cabinet discussions over what to do with the 456's ransom (TW: Children of Earth: Day Three, Day Four) and finally ordered the army to kidnap children. (TW: Children of Earth: Day Five)
