Sittuun were a race of gray, bald humanoids from the Battani-045 system.
Biology
The Sittuun were a gray, bald humanoids with black dotty eyes, no noses, and simple mouths. They were quite capable of speaking Human languages, but their native tongue could not be spoken or understood by humans. They often used human names for themselves and things in their society as a way of being understandable to their human neighbors. Their blood was some form of blue-green color mix, for when they blushed, their cheeks turned turquoise. (NSA: Night of the Humans)
Technology
The Sittuun were less developed in technology than the Humans with whom they had a working relationship. They considered themselves developing, rather than primitive. (NSA: Night of the Humans)
History
The Sittuun were responsible for the Beagle XXI mission, which sent eleven of their race to The Gyre to destroy the planet in order to avoid widespread devastation to nearby systems upon collision with the comet Schuler-Khan. Captain Jamal al-Jehedeh and Lt Baasim al-Jehedeh were of the race, and among the group of eleven on the mission. (NSA: Night of the Humans)
Behind the scenes
- The name Sittuun was given to the race by humans. It is the Arabic word for "sixty," and was used in reference to the number of Sittuun in the first group encountered by the humans.
