The Cthalctose were creatures that lived in a crystal sea on a planet designated 16 Alpha Leonis One. They were an extremely long lived species; a piece of performance art could last up to three hundred years. At some point in their history, Earth's moon was their moon. Within it they placed a bio-forming device called Genesis of Cthalctose that, when activated, would planet-form the targeted planet to become like their homeworld (the process was often incorrectly termed as 'terraforming').
