I think that river song is... Lucy saxon. Heres why: if it was lucy then the best man she ever knew was the master, bang goes a gun and he dies. She then proceeds to disturd his ressurection.
River says the doctor didnt teach her to fly the tardis, but in sound of the drums the master had it and flew it. he may well have taught her to fly it.
- I disagree. Lucy Saxon wouldn't of looked back on the Master as a "the best man I ever knew". Plus the Master didn't do a lot of flying in the TARDIS, just a few trips between modern London and the end of the universe before he turned it into a Paradox machine.
- In addition you have to consider that River Song was imprisoned in a 51st/52nd Century human prison for killing whoever she killed. Such people would have no love for the Master if they even knew he existed, and would probably give her a medal if they did.Falrinn 19:46, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
What if... River Song is actually a future incarnation of The Doctor? She certainly behaves a lot like him, has great knowledge of things, can fly the Tardis and loves to get involved in adventures. Two incarnations of the doctor were already seen in that Children in Need special. Granted, this theory seems a bit far fetched though since they appear to be romantically linked. 79.183.184.41 20:11, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
Although River could be lying to avoid spoilers, everything she says makes it sound like she is not the Doctor. She talked to Rory about her first meeting with the Doctor, and didn't know that she was going to die in the Library. If she was the Doctor, she would already know what was going to happen in every episode that she is in, because she would have already experienced as the Doctor(Although that didn't work in any past multi-Doctor episodes except Time Crash). Apart from that, the Doctor hates weapons, and River carries a gun, and it would be too weird for the Doctor to be romantically linked to himself. All the similarities between River and the Doctor explain why they are attracted to eachother, but it is not evidence that they are the same person.Icecreamdif 23:03, May 10, 2011 (UTC)
- If River is the Doctor, and is also married to the Doctor, we might as well go all the way to the Heinlein story "All You Zombies"--River has a child, who becomes the Doctor (so he really is half-human on his mother's side--except that, of course, both his mother and his father are him, so he's half-human on his father's side too), and he's also the bartender who originally introduces the two of them, and the leader of the Time Agency in the 51st Century who first gives River time travel, and for good measure also Rassilon who first invents time travel.
- ::Yeah, he's also Ben, Polly, Davros, the Rani, Omega, The Black Guardian, The White Guardian, Amy, Rory, The Meta-Crisis Doctor, Captain Jack, The Face of Boe, Zoe, Charles Dickens and Russel T. Davies. What, you guys didn't know that? Pay attention. Sorryaboutthatchief 08:50, May 12, 2011 (UTC)
- I can imagine The Moff making a brief allusion to that classic story, but I can't imagine him actually borrowing its plot. --99.33.26.0 05:41, May 11, 2011 (UTC)
