It is unclear if the name Berrus was applicable to the mutant-fruit creatures of the planet Velgris, or whether the voice proclaiming themselves to be the Berrus was from an unknown invading force that sought to mutate the fruit through the use of a device that distorted the chanting of the Velgors (via remote control).
