Doctor Who: Travels in Time and Space was a limited edition boxed set released by BBC Audio on 7 November 2005. The set consisted of unabridged readings of the first three Doctor Who novelisations as originally published by Frederick Muller in the mid-1960s. They were later reprinted by Target Books in the early 1970s to launch its long-running series of novelisations.
The three books are read by William Russell, who played Ian Chesterton in the three stories featured.
The recordings were enhanced with music score and special effects by Simon E Power. The accompanying sleeve notes also reproduced the illustrations from inside the books as well as covers from different editions. Each used the Chris Achilleos Target edition covers on both the CD jewel cases and individual CDs.
The three books featured were:
- Doctor Who in an Exciting Adventure with the Daleks (aka Doctor Who and the Daleks) by David Whitaker
- Doctor Who and the Zarbi by Bill Strutton
- Doctor Who and the Crusaders by David Whitaker
This release was followed in 2007 by the launch of an ongoing series of CD releases featuring more unabridged readings of Target novelisations.
