Captain Briggs was the commander of a space freighter in the 26th century.

In 2526, Briggs was determined to gain the bonus for delivering her cargo on time — even though Earth was on red alert due to an interstellar conference being held to discuss the upcoming Cyber-Wars.
However, the freighter was infiltrated by a group of Neomorph Cybermen, who planned to crash the ship on Earth to destroy the aforementioned conference. (TV: Earthshock)
Briggs, Scott and Berger were returned to 26th century Earth in the Doctor's TARDIS. (TV: Time-Flight)
