{{Infobox Person/doc}} is the infobox template which is to be used on all pages having to do with people from the real world. Actors, crew members, writers — all such people get {{Infobox Person/doc}}.

If you don't give a name, the infobox will be titled with the name of the page. Which is fine in 99% of cases.
Other names:	Give here other legal names, not nicknames. Mainly, this is for birth names of actors.

This is not the place to list every episode in which David Tennant appeared, or which Verity Lambert produced. Can also be used for people who've had a wide range of contributions across several media — like a Mark Gatiss or Paul Cornell. Simply use this variable to point to the section of the article that details their CV. Again, it's mainly for people who've got less than 4 credits in the DWU, or for people who have so many credits in so many media that the only sensible thing an infobox can do is to point the reader to the bibliography section of the article.
Main time period active:	Year span of principal involvement in the production of DWU stories. Don't go crazy with this. Keep it as simple as possible. Peter Davison is best expressed as "1981-1984 (TV), 1999-present (audio)". Paul McGann is best as "2001-present (audio)", with Doctor Who (1996) being listed under Mainly for people who've had relatively limited involvement with the DWU. Someone like Bill King might be "Season 6". Reunion or multi-Doctor stories don't count, so Patrick Troughton is 1966-1969. Try to be as economical as possible in your expression of the time period. The article itself can explain anomalous appearances. Think about the simplicity of a year range on a classic DVD cover. It doesn't note all the times Troughton appeared on DW after 1969.
