'''Taron''' was a [[Thal]] who was part of a small taskforce sent to [[Spiridon]] to defeat the [[Dalek]]s based there, serving as the team's medic. When their spacecraft crashed on Spiridon, their captain, [[Miro]], was killed on touchdown, leaving Taron to take command as the next most senior. When a second taskforce arrived on Spiridon, Taron was not pleased to see that his lover, [[Rebec]], was among them, fearing for her safety. When the taskforce first met [[Jo Grant]] and the [[Third Doctor]], Taron was initially skeptical of the Doctor's claims that he was the [[First Doctor|same man]] who once saved the Thal race. However, he quickly came to trust the Doctor, after the [[Time Lord]] demonstrated his knowledge of Daleks and warned [[Codal]] not to open a deactivated Dalek's casing, as that would trigger an automatic distress signal.
