Julius Schäfer was a high-ranking officer at Colditz Castle in 1944. He sympathised with the prisoners and brought in equipment so that they could escape. He was good friends with one of the prisoners, Bill Gower, and would bring food to him and his men secretly. (AUDIO: Colditz)
